He qualified as a Medical Doctor (General Practitioner) in 1984 and specialized as a Gynecologist-Obstetrician in 1993. He is a recognized international expert in maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV prevention, and tropical diseases, with numerous peer-reviewed publications.

He has held leadership positions including:

  • President of the African Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SAGO) since 2022.
  • Active contributor to regional and international health initiatives, including UNFPA and other multilateral efforts focused on maternal mortality reduction and reproductive health policy.

He was awarded the Chevalier and Officier ranks in the International Order of Academic Palms of CAMES (2012 and 2019) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to medical education and public health in Africa.
