Dr. Ramzi Mraidi

Associate Professor of Statistics and Biostatistics

Ramzi Mraidi, PhD, is a senior scientific advisor and statistics/methodology expert with over 15 years of international experience across epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, global health, regulatory science and evidence-informed policy. He has worked across the public sector, private sector, international organisations, academia, consulting and volunteer-based initiatives, with experience in Europe, Africa and Asia. His work focuses on strengthening the design, analysis, interpretation and use of quantitative evidence to support decision-making in public health, global health, clinical research, health technology assessment and international development contexts. He has contributed to multidisciplinary projects involving clinical and epidemiological research, vaccine and infectious disease studies, real-world evidence, data governance, health technology evaluation, programme evaluation and epidemiological modelling. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

Research & Interests + Publications:

His research interests focus on the use of statistics, epidemiology, data science and methodological innovation to improve evidence generation and decision-making in health and development. He is particularly interested in clinical trial methodology, real-world evidence, causal inference, population health data, predictive modelling, programme evaluation, data governance, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in analytical and policy contexts. A central theme of his work is the translation of complex quantitative evidence into clear, actionable and context-sensitive recommendations for researchers, practitioners, institutions and decision-makers.

Students benefit from professors’ real-world experience in global affairs, sustainable development, diplomacy, and related fields, gaining practical insights that complement the formal curriculum.
