At EUCLID, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree represents a total of 90 credit hours beyond the Bachelor’s degree, in accordance with traditional international academic requirements.
Admission Prerequisite In practice, a relevant Master’s degree (or its international equivalent) from a recognized institution is required for admission to the PhD program.
Credit Structure and Coursework Upon acceptance, approximately 35 credit hours from the qualifying Master’s degree are transferred toward the PhD. This leaves approximately 35 credit hours of advanced doctoral-level coursework to be completed at EUCLID prior to entering the dissertation phase.
Dissertation Phase The dissertation phase accounts for 25 credit hours. Candidates are expected to produce an original doctoral dissertation that is typically 150–200 pages in length (double-spaced). The dissertation must include a comprehensive bibliography / works-cited section containing 100 or more relevant references drawn from a variety of scholarly sources.
Additional Requirements All EUCLID PhD dissertations must result in one or more published academic papers. These papers may be published through EUCLID’s own peer-reviewed journal, the Intergovernmental Research and Policy Journal (IRPJ), or other reputable academic outlets.
The program culminates in a formal viva voce (oral defense) of the dissertation before a panel of examiners.
Dissertation Supervision EUCLID provides each doctoral candidate with a qualified dissertation supervisor selected from its international faculty corps. The supervisor offers expert guidance throughout the research design, writing, and revision process.
