EUCLID Scam & Fake Email Warning
Important Security Notice – Updated April 2026
Intergovernmental institutions are regularly targeted by sophisticated fraudsters who create fake emails, websites, and documents that appear to come from our institutions.
These scams typically involve fictitious offers of employment, scholarships, training programs, or awards. Fraudsters may use the EUCLID name, logo, seal, or the names of our officials and faculty to appear legitimate.
What You Should Know
EUCLID never:
- Charges any application, processing, interview, or “training” fees for employment at EUCLID
- Requests payment for visas, hotel reservations, or travel arrangements, except for official
- Asks for bank account details, Western Union, cryptocurrency, or gift cards
- Uses free email services (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, ProtonMail, etc.) for official communications
All official EUCLID communications come exclusively from addresses ending in @euclid.int.
Common Scam Tactics
- Emails that look almost identical to EUCLID correspondence
- Urgent requests for personal information or payment
- Fake job offers with high salaries and minimal requirements
- Promises of “fully funded” scholarships that require an upfront fee
- Spoofed email addresses that slightly resemble @euclid.int
These are 100% fraudulent. Do not respond. Do not send money or personal data.
What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Message
- Do not reply or click any links
- Delete the message immediately
- Report it to your email provider (mark as phishing/spam)
- Forward the email (as attachment) to: [email protected] so we can investigate and warn others
- Contact your local law enforcement or cybercrime unit if money was requested or lost
Verify Legitimate EUCLID Communications
- Check the sender address ends with @euclid.int
- All official offers are confirmed through the EUCLID student portal after formal application
