Dr. Mengnjo Fonyuy Francis

Dr. Mengnjo Fonyuy Francis holds a PhD in Climate Change and Sustainability from EUCLID University and a postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development from the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon. His career has been primarily within the UN system, where he has led environmental and social risk management and ensured compliance with international safeguards for infrastructure, health, and conservation projects across Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in the Congo Basin. Building on his academic grounding, he has specialized in integrating climate risk mitigation, environmental due diligence, and safeguard policies into programme design and implementation, with a strong focus on protecting vulnerable communities while supporting sustainable development.

His research contributions include a Master's thesis examining the impact of electronic waste on the environment, with a particular case study in Douala, Littoral Region, Cameroon, and a PhD thesis assessing the multifaceted impact of climate change on education, health, energy, and agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa through an interdisciplinary case study of Cameroon. His work bridges environmental science, climate resilience, and sustainable development, contributing to evidence-based policymaking and the protection of ecosystems and communities in the face of global environmental challenges.
