EUCLID FACULTY APPOINTMENT

EUCLID is pleased to announce that recognized cardiology and medical researcher Dr Ernst von Schwarz has joined the EUCLID faculty to support the institution’s new program in bioethics and academic medicine. Dr Schwarz has an impressive record of publications and completed his second PhD at EUCLID (in theology) prior to joining the faculty corps.

Biography:

Professor Dr. Ernst von Schwarz MD, PHD, FESC, FACC, FSCAI is a US-based world renowned triple board certified clinical and academic cardiologist and clinical professor of medicine at UCLA. He joined Cedars Sinai Medical Center and UCLA as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Device Program in 2006. In 2015, Dr. von Schwarz was appointed Director of Cardiology, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and Director of the Heart Institute at the Southern California Hospital at Culver City. He also serves as Chairman of the Pacific Heart Medical Group in Murrieta and Medical Director of Heart Stem Inc., since 2016.

Dr. Ernst von Schwarz has published over 150 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed medical journals as well as several books and book chapters in cardiovascular medicine. He is a sought after expert witness in several high profile court cases and a regular contributor to TV and radio. Dr. von Schwarz is a prolific speaker lecturing worldwide at international scientific conferences including American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology among many others.

Dr. von Schwarz studied medicine at the University of Vienna, Austria and the Philipps University Marburg, Germany, and the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. In 1989, he wrote his thesis on pepsin secretion in the stomach and was awarded his doctorate degree at the Philipps University Marburg, Germany. In 1991, he was awarded his second doctorate degree from the University of Vienna, Austria.
