EUCLID’s Service Arm delivers rice bags in The Gambia

EUCLID was able to express its support to the people of The Gambia by purchasing and delivering bags of rice during this difficult time. The EUCLID Gambia HQ team, notably Director Loum, is to be commended for this timely initiative.

The Gambia is, like many countries, experiencing severe economic consequences from the COVID-19 outbreak, including during the holy month of Ramadan which is now underway.

Widely considered “the smiling coast of Africa” and praised from its safety, hospitality, and stunning beaches, The Gambia is a major touristic destination for European tourists, especially during the winter season.

EUCLID’s headquarters office is located in Brusubi, which is why rice bag distribution was centered in this particular area of the capital. EUCLID recently authorized two independent institutes to support relief initiative as well as interfaith relations: The Syed Zahid Ali International Relief Institute (named after EUCLID’s founding Secretary-General, now titled Founding President) and Order of St John Chrysostom, commissioned by EUCLID’s OCC/IFC Pr Laurent Cleenewerck.
