Updated COVID-19 Information

The EUCLID Oversight Council confirms that COVID-19 is not affecting EUCLID operations and that the ongoing closure of ‘on-campus’ institutions confirms the relevancy of its education model in which EUCLID is the only global intergovernmental leader. In this update, EUCLID also provides an important 2020/2021 outlook on this crisis.

The faculty group of experts at the EUCLID School of Global Health and Bioethics has been and is still continuing to monitor the evolution of this global pandemic. It seems very likely that the COVID-19 outbreak will affect all societies into 2021. The development of a safe and effective vaccine is a significant challenge as effective coronavirus vaccines have not been successfully developed in the past. As a result, the economic and societal consequences of the COVID-19 are certain to be significant and sustained. In this context, affordable online education is all the more relevant, and EUCLID is well-positioned to continue its journey to become a global leader in higher education. The recent appointment of Winston Dookeran as Secretary-General and approval of EUCLID as ACS Social Actors are significant milestones in this institutional journey in such a challenging global context.
