Overview

Note: EULER programs are distinguished from EUCLID programs but also closely related as (1) they have slightly different areas of specialization (based on the list of degrees in the initial charter (2) they rely on very similar methods and platforms (3) the final degree is conferred by EUCLID but with the EULER logo added and dual degree option (two degrees, one from EUCLID (Euclid University – intergovernmental) and one from EULER (The Euler-Franeker Memorial University) starting ~10/2024.

This online bachelor's program is designed for students who are self-motivated and who do not depend on intense peer-to-peer support to move forward. Rather, it is ideal for students who enjoy reading on their own (structured intake of curated information) and

The curriculum provides a progression of courses over 4 modules (4 years), covering not only international relations and diplomacy but also global economics and sustainable development studies.

This program offers on a balanced blend of applicable professional knowledge and skills as well as essential academic knowledge with further academic studies in view. International relations are covered from a Global South angle as well as from major Western/OECD sources, with a focus on critical thinking and the ability to handle opposing viewpoints.

Within certain parameters, the final project is customizable, with possible elective courses focusing on:

  • Sustainable Development Goals
  • Sustainable Development in Africa
  • Small islands issues
  • Culture and Development
  • Islamic Economics and Finance.

Requirements

Applicants should have a recognized high school degree and maybe transfer credits if applying with a relevant Associates degree or its international equivalent. For transfer applications, the AA or equivalent must be issued by an institution listed in the UNESCO-IAU handbook/database or otherwise duly recognized/accredited. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required and will be tested. Students are expected to be in a position to dedicate 10 to 15 effective hours of study on a weekly basis.
