Our Philosophy

Overview

EUCLID (Pôle Universitaire Euclide | Euclid University), established in 2008 as an intergovernmental, treaty-based institution under United Nations Treaty Series certificates 49006/49007, is dedicated to delivering accessible, high-quality education. It serves government officials, international civil servants, and general public students, preparing them for global careers in fields such as diplomacy, public health, and sustainable development. EUCLID’s philosophy integrates critical inquiry, global engagement, and transformative education, as outlined in its pedagogical approach and mission-vision statements.

Pedagogical Philosophy: Critical Inquiry and Dynamic Learning

EUCLID’s pedagogical approach emphasizes critical inquiry, inspired by John Stuart Mill’s call to question all things rigorously. The university provides an advanced, engaging distance-learning experience at the graduate and post-graduate levels, utilizing a multimedia framework. This includes internationally recognized textbooks, recorded lectures from distinguished professors, webcasts, and podcasts, ensuring students receive accurate and inspiring content without the constraints of traditional campus-based education.

Key academic objectives include:

– Advanced Academic Writing: Through courses like ACA-401, students develop skills in international academic paper writing, mastering citation techniques, Word templates, and logical argument structuring.

– Critical Thinking and Argumentation: The TPH-499 course focuses on sound argumentation, identifying fallacies, and analyzing debates, equipping students with essential intellectual tools for professional and academic success.

EUCLID also emphasizes practical IT skills, Artificial Intelligence, cultural literacy, and professional writing to produce well-rounded graduates prepared for global leadership. By incorporating additional resources such as The Teaching Company’s Great Courses and public lectures from institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the London School of Economics, as well as select Coursera modules, EUCLID fosters a rich, interdisciplinary learning environment.

Mission and Vision: Globalizing Expertise

EUCLID’s mission is to prepare expert leaders for international civil service and global careers, serving both government-sponsored and general public students. Its vision, encapsulated in the motto “Become Globalized,” promotes a global perspective and cross-cultural competence. The academic motto, “Let us also hear the other side” (Audi et alteram partem), underscores EUCLID’s commitment to open-mindedness and balanced inquiry, guiding its educational and institutional practices.

EUCLID University’s philosophy combines rigorous academic standards, global engagement, and a commitment to accessibility. By fostering critical thinking, cultural competence, and professional expertise, EUCLID prepares its students to navigate and lead in an interconnected world, embodying its vision of globalized education.
