Collen Kelapile appointed Ambassador to United Nations

EUCLID has received confirmation that Mr. Collen V. Kelapile has been appointed Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Botswana to the United Nations in New York, USA. He has wide-ranging experience in diplomacy spanning over two decades, having worked diligently in the Ministry and International Organisations. Mr. Kelapile joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in 1995.

He is currently serving as Chief of Staff at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has previously served in the Ministry Headquarters as the Deputy Director, Department of Africa and the Middle East, as well as at the Botswana Permanent Mission to the United Nations, New York, USA. Mr. Kelapile also served as an expert on the prestigious and renowned Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) of the United Nations.

Collen Kelapile is a long-time associate of EUCLID, serving on the faculty corps (DIP-801) and pursuing graduate studies.

The Ambassador-Designate is expected to take up his appointment in New York in October 2018.
