Klemens Katterbauer is a AI specialist and software engineer working on robotics and artificial intelligence software development at EXPECARC in Saudi Aramco. His focus is on bridging the gap between sustainable energy transition development and the power of artificial intelligence. Klemens has published more than 50+ journal and conference publications, and has more than 20+ granted and submitted patents.
Before this he was the IT Infrastructure Manager and Business Process Consultant for Eastern Europe, Middle East & Asia Pacific Region at the XXXLGroup (2nd largest furniture retailer in the world). Before this he was E – Business Manager at Hilti responsible for the promotion of online channel sales, and e-procurement for the B2B customers of Hilti, having achieved an almost doubling in eB2B sales numbers within a year. Furthermore, he has completed his LLM from Beijing Foreign Studies University where he has outlined in his LLM thesis different approaches for companies to navigate the challenging e-payment regulatory framework in China. He furthermore finished his Doctorate of Business Administration from Middlesex University, UK focusing on optimal decision taking utilizing behavioral finance theory for management decisions. He also has an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University.
Klemens completed his PhD in Earth Science and Engineering focusing on smartly utilizing geophysical data in reservoir history matching under uncertainty. At KAUST, Klemens was the President of the SPE KAUST Student Chapter (Outstanding Student Chapter 2014 and 2015, Top 10 in the world) from April 2013 to April 2015 and the President of Al Manarah Toastmasters club from July 2012 to August 2013, leading to being awarded the President Distinguished Award in 2013, and functioned in his former positions as Vice-President of the SPE Student Chapter as well as officer of the Al Manarah Toastmasters club in addtion to having been President of the AIChE student chapter at KAUST.
He was recipient of the ASME Henry de Witt Fellowship in 2014.
