EUCLID welcomes Republic of Djibouti as Participating State

Press Release | December 19, 2024

Djibouti Joins EUCLID University as a Participating State

EUCLID (Euclid University) is proud to announce that Djibouti has officially become a Participating State in the university’s international consortium of member states. This new participation and partnership further enhance EUCLID’s commitment to providing world-class, global higher education through participation of and collaboration with sovereign states.

As a Participating State, Djibouti will benefit from EUCLID’s diverse academic programs, particularly in international relations, law, and diplomacy, fostering educational opportunities for its officials and citizens, while furthering diplomatic ties with other EUCLID member states, notably at the United Nations.

Djibouti holds significant strategic importance due to its location at the crossroads of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, two major maritime trade routes. It serves as a key gateway for international shipping, particularly to and from the Suez Canal, which connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. Djibouti’s proximity to the Arabian Peninsula, as well as its access to vital shipping lanes, makes it a critical hub for global trade and naval operations. Additionally, its location near conflict zones in the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, along with military bases from several global powers, underscores its geopolitical significance.

This milestone reflects both Djibouti’s commitment to advancing higher education and EUCLID’s growing network of global cooperation. Through this partnership, EUCLID aims to continue supporting educational and research initiatives that contribute to the development of global leaders.
