Overview

This online master in international law and treaty law (MILT) is not to be confused with an LLM which is a short degree (typically representing 24-26 US credit). Rather, the MILT is a full master of science degree (representing 36-40 US credits) and therefore a qualifying degree for Ph.D. admission, which an LLM is not.

LLM holder may consider this degree option as a bridge program towards doctoral studies, as a number of LLM credit may be transferred to the MILT.

The EUCLID online master in international law and treaty law is one of the world’s few two master's programs offered by an intergovernmental organization constituted under international law (the other being offered by the European University Institute).

As a public non-profit institution, EUCLID is able to offer affordable, low-tuition programs.

Academic Presentation

This specialized MSc degree focuses on the actual practice of States and intergovernmental organizations, rather than the advancement of academic knowledge for its own sake.

It is meant to be used by professional diplomats working for EUCLID Participating States and can be considered an excellent route to pursue a career within governmental bodies, international law firms, NGOs and international organizations.

Thanks to its low tuition and institutional relationships, it is designed to be of special interest to African students.
